Program Specialist –Home on the Range Green Care Farm

 A Green Care Farm-Farm based environments to promote health for vulnerable populations.

Education: We prefer an agriculture, social work, business or related degree to fill this full-time position with us but we would consider applicants with the right combination of skills & experience. Farm, organic agriculture and disability experience is required.

We are seeking a responsible, highly motivated individual to work, facilitate & expand the organic agriculture programs we offer at our Green Care Farm in Ardrossan.

You must be an individual who values diversity and is supportive of individuals with a wide variety of disabilities to become involved in organic agriculture.

You will also possess a keen business sense & successfully be able to expand our agricultural based social enterprise initiatives. You will be required to work with & care for farm animals, such as lambs, cats & chickens as part of the programs we offer.

You will also be involved to develop other specialty agriculture projects for the off season to support active, healthy, education programs in agriculture for children, youth & adults with developmental disabilities. 

As part of working for a small charity your responsibilities will include fund development activities, public speaking, grant writing, sponsorship proposals, social media, website support & any other duties to get us closer to our vision.

We are a registered non-profit charity with a goal of developing a Green Care Farm with housing for adults with autism bridging to the community through social enterprise. We want to bring this farm based program & housing model to the Edmonton Region that has been proven beneficial for this population.

This full-time Program Specialist position is 40 hours a week, $31,000 annually with 4 weeks holidays and reports to our Executive Director.

This position starts May 1, 2017 but the hours are flexible to accommodate a recent graduate.
